Position Description
Oversee all financial activities, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints and maximizing profitability. Provide strategic financial guidance to plant management while maintaining accurate financial records.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes for all business units.
- Provide variance analysis and performance metrics to track operational and financial performance.
- Collaborate with department heads to develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive financial
accountability across the organization.
Cost Accounting and Control:
- Oversee cost accounting activities, including standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation.
- Implement and maintain robust cost control measures to optimize manufacturing costs and maximize
profitability. - Conduct regular reviews of manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for cost reduction and
process improvement.
Accounting Operations:
- Supervise day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general
ledger, and payroll functions. - Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes.
- Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
- Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate annual audits and tax filings.
Financial Reporting & Planning:
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial
statements. - Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes for all business units.
- Collaborate with department heads to develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive financial
accountability across the organization. - Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies and procedures.
- Present financial results and analysis to senior management and stakeholders, highlighting key insights
and areas of focus.
Inventory Management:
- Manage inventory levels and accuracy, ensuring alignment with production schedules and customer
demand. - Monitor inventory valuation and aging and implement strategies to minimize excess and obsolete
inventory.
Capital Expenditure Management:
- Evaluate capital expenditure proposals for plant facilities and provide financial analysis to support
investment decisions. - Monitor capital spending against budget and forecast, ensuring projects are completed on time and within
budgetary constraints.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, procurement, and engineering, to support
business initiatives and drive continuous improvement. - Provide financial guidance and support for capital investment decisions, new product development
projects, and strategic initiatives.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 4+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems. Power BI is a plus.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven leadership abilities and a track record of driving process improvements and operational efficiencies.
- Experience in the manufacturing industry is a plus.
