The Sourcing & Logistics Specialist owns inbound and outbound freight cost, recommends savings opportunities and supports regulations and routing within the logistics team as needed. Supplier onboarding and performance management, and strategic sourcing support for new product industrialization. The position bridges supply chain execution and strategic cost optimization, ensuring reliable supply, controlled freight spend, and scalable supplier relationships aligned with business growth across the North America Supply Chain.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Functional Skills / Knowledge To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential qualification satisfactorily.

  • Ability to manage supplier relationships through structured performance management and regular review cadence.
  • Strong understanding of freight cost drivers and logistics network optimization.
  • Ability to analyze spend data, identify cost reduction opportunities, and implement corrective actions.
  • Effective communication skills to coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, and logistics partners.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Ability to operate cross-functionally with supply chain, industrialization, production, and finance teams.
  • Comfortable working in both strategic and execution-focused environments.

Freight / Logistics Responsibilities

  • Owns inbound and outbound freight costs centers
  • Manages freight spend visibility, cost allocation, and optimization initiatives.
  • Leads freight cost reduction programs, including carrier selection, lane optimization, and mode evaluation.
  • Works with finance and supply chain leadership to improve freight cost forecasting and budgeting accuracy.
  • Ensure logistics activities align with company policies, safety requirements, and compliance standards.
  • Freight, Audit and Pay freight charges
  • Support logistics daily freight needs

 

Sourcing / Supplier Management Responsibilities

  • Owns key supplier relationships beyond transactional purchasing, including:
    • Supplier onboarding and qualification.
    • Supplier performance scorecards and regular reviews.
    • Coordination of corrective actions for supplier performance issues.
  • Supports industrialization and new product introduction efforts by sourcing and onboarding new suppliers as required, per our quality management system.
  • Collaborates with supply chain, industrialization, and production teams to ensure supplier readiness for new or transferred products.
  • Ensures supplier activities align with company policies, safety requirements, and compliance standards

 

General

  • Supports continuous improvement initiatives related to logistics reliability, lead time reduction, and cost control.
  • Prepares reports and presentations to communicate supplier performance, freight trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Ensures compliance with all safety standards, environmental requirements, and the Company Code of Conduct.
  • Maintains assigned work areas in a clean, safe condition and promotes a culture of continuous improvement.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Qualifications Minimum:

●        Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent career experience.

●        Detailed knowledge in shipping hazardous and dangerous goods while meeting IATA regulations.

●        2+ years of experience in logistics, freight management, supplier management, and /or strategic sourcing.

●        Working knowledge of domestic and international freight modes, Incoterms, and cost structures.

●        Experience managing supplier relationships beyond transactional purchasing – including but not limited to identifying and quantifying new sources.

●        Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.

Preferred:

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Experience supporting new product sourcing or industrialization projects.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and freight cost allocation methods.
  • Experience with supplier scorecards, cost reduction initiatives, etc.
  • Freight audit & pay (approval)
  • Freight optimization programs.
  • Exposure to hazardous materials shipping, export compliance, or regulated supply chains.
  • Utilize Transportation Management System (TMS) as applicable

Required profile

QUALITY HEALTH SAFETY ENVIRONMENT (QHSE):

-          Apply QHSE rules and propose improvements in pursuit of continuous improvement.

-          Compliant with safety precautions recommended on site.
