Position Description

 

Perform a variety of Quality duties requiring a high degree of knowledge of Quality Control, Quality Management Systems, and plant procedures.

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality management system (QMS). Ensure the everyday application of the quality system in-house and by suppliers (perform audits, pilot’s improvement action plans, manages external audits by customers and certification agencies).
  • Must follow Quality Process and comply with all requirements of the Quality System Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Work Instructions.
  • Update metrics monthly and post to the designated locations around facility.
  • Monitor and measure supplier On Time Delivery (OTD) and Quality performance.
  • Assist with the preparation of certificate of analysis, statistical process control data and other related product documentation in support of customer quality program needs.
  • Ensure that production analytical instrumentation in properly maintained, calibrated and validated.
  • Observe production operations for conformance to specifications and report findings.
  • Assist with the preparation, maintenance and documentation of inspection acceptance, rejection and/or re-work requirements.
  • Ensure all bottles and chemicals are properly marked to satisfy OSHA and AS9100 guidelines for Hazardous Communication (GHS Compliance).
  • Interface with R&D and quality base camps or equivalent and production personnel on any production related issues.
  • Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies for a chemical lab and plant operations.
  • Assist with Environmental related matters within company premises to include SWPPP, Quality Air permitting, and other regulatory agencies as required.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating most current revisions of SDS.
  • Effectively manage multiple internal and external projects.
  • Maintain the system to manage employee training. Ensure proper training is routinely performed and documented.
  • Comply with all safety requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Key Qualifications:

 

  • College or technical degree in chemistry, materials, or process science.
  • Training related to communication skills, computers, and ability to read and interpret technical documents (SDS, TDS, protocols, manuals, charts, catalogs, and specifications, etc.)
  • 2 years of job-related experience
  • Ability to interpret quality control specifications and schematics or drawings. Ability to read and comprehend critical production documents.
  • Ability to write technical reports and maintain laboratory and production logs. Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
